It was good to catch up with my walk this morning – I didn’t sleep well last night and was up pretty early. The fresh morning air felt good and peaceful. I like this house – it always decorats windows for the seasons or the holidays. Stars!
Work was a zoo for a bit, but then I was able to get home in time to cut the grass before the downpour. Kath and I had a visit with Mom, but facetime isn’t the best choice. Hopefully next week we can visit in person. I took a little flower walk after the rain and found a bright pink lily and a few buds, not quite ready to bloom.
Gen is here from New York, and after she made dinner (I love it when she cooks!) we went outside and cleaned up some of the flower beds, pulled weeds, trimmed plants. It felt good to be outside working together. When we came in, I started working on this and Rainy decided she was going to nap on the rug behind me – but it was bedtime for them so they went upstairs. I’m looking forward to our visit over the next several days!
Today I’ll share Sheena’s message from Word of Life – Walk in your rightful authority! The Bible promises that we can trample the devil under our feet – keep on tramping! 1) The devil is a liar – God is truth. Don’t put the devil on a pedestal, put him under your feet! Jesus already defeated Satan – you are a kingdom kid. 2) You are not a victim – we are filled with God’s power. He tries to attack and strip us of our power – But our past is behind us – just march. Your ammunition is the Word – Train your brain! 3) Stay in the rest – think in peace. God’s got your back and is fighting our battles. Recognize God’s voice. Don’t be anxious about anything. Keep tramping!
On this day in 1692 the first victim of the Salem Witch Trials was hanged in Massachusetts, and in 1752 Ben Franklin tested the lightening conductor with kite flying. The first public zoo opened in 1793 in Paris. Spencer Tracy died in 1967 at age 67 and Ray Charles in 2004 at age 73. John Jacob Astor III (American businessman) was born in 1822, Judy Garland (whose real name was Frances Gumm!) in 1922, and Lee Brice (Country music artist) in 1979. And my friend Janet Drown had a birthday today. Happy birthday, Janet – hope your day was full of fun and love and laughter. God bless!
TOMORROW June 11 is:
Tomorrow is a continued visit with Gen and Rainy, and Kelly is coming up for a while. I’m looking forward to spending most of the day at home! Lots to do! Have a happy Friday! God bless…
