I am more worn out tonight than last night. I think the adrenalin wore off! I could fall asleep sitting here! So this will be as short as I can make it. I did get to walk outside this morning – despite the chill. I tried to take a picture of the squirrel’s nest in the tree out front, but it’s not very obvious. Nate thinks that’s what made the mess.

I cleaned the house after work, then went to Kathy’s. We had facetime with Mom, then had a planning meeting for our June vacation. It took a while to wade through the information but we finally have hotel reservations and a sketchy agenda. I was only outside for a minute to get the mail, and took a picture of my new garden flag. Gabe’s have some really nice ones and they are very well priced.

Today I will share Micah’s message – Excess baggage. If you travel, you know that baggage is often restricted. Especially by airlines, but even if you are traveling with your family and everyone has their ‘must have’s’. If a plane or car is overloaded it can be very dangerous. Even innocent and good things can be excess baggage. Here are things you don’t need: 1) Anxiety – be anxious about nothing! Let go and let God – of fear (don’t be overcome), of your foes (devil), and finances – God will supply. 2) Burdens A) Unnecessary pressure (peers? employers?) B) Unwarranted guilt – God releases us from guilt. C) Ungodly choices of others D) unforgiveness. 3) Circumstances. A) Submit to God’s will; let God fix it; don’t do it yourself. B) select acceptable attitude C) Stay with it; hold your ground and don’t give up. Endure. Finish and finish well!

On this day in 1541 King Henry VIII ordered a Bible in English be placed in every church in England. In 1937 the Hindenburg airship exploded in flames and ended the age of the Zeppelin. Bob Hope performed in his first USO show in 1941. Henry David Thoreau died at age 44 in 1862, and in 1950 Elizabeth Taylor married for the first time to Conrad Hilton. Birthdays: Orson Welles in 1915, Willie Mays in 1931, and George Clooney in 1961. My friend Marty Cummins (former co-employee at Smail’s) had a birthday today. Happy birthday, Marty, and many more!!!
