We had a busy, fun, full day! So much activity, so many lovely people. And since it’s after 9:30pm and I’m running out of steam, I’ll wait until either Sunday or Monday to make a full report and add photos! Kelly, Matt and Peyton spent last night, and left early this morning for Jason & Miranda’s to get Spare Ribs and Baby Back – Peyton’s 2 baby pigs to raise for his 4-H project to show at the West Alex fair this Labor Day weekend! I don’t know which pig is which!
We had lunch at the Buffet with Ron’s family, walked both lakes at Twin Lakes (BEAUTIFUL day!), made dinner here, took another walk through the neighborhood, then listened to Greg’s message from Vanderbilt. I’ll recap that tomorrow, along with photos from the afternoon – but for now I will sign off with the history facts and tomorrow’s National days.
On this day in 1849 the safety pin was patented by Walter Hunt – sold rights for $400! General Robert E Lee issued his last official order in 1865, and the Titanic set sail from Southampton in 1912 (We all know how THAT turned out!) And in 1970 Paul McCartney officially announced the split of the Beatles. Harry Morgan was born in 1915, and in 1971 Penny Marshall married Rob Reiner.
TOMORROW April 11th is:
- National Barber Shop Quartet Day
- National Cheese Fondue Day
- National Eight Track Tape Day
- National Pet Day
- National Submarine Day
I believe I still have a few 8 track tapes! Nothing to play them on…. Have a wonderful day in the Lord’s house! God bless…
