December 27, 2021

Today would have been the perfect day to sleep in – cold, rain-mixed with icy snow, dreary. But it was indeed a work day for me! There wasn’t so much to do that I was gone very long. I got gas for the car and a battery for my Snoopy watch, something I hadn’t worn in about 12 years – I didn’t want to pair it with my fitbit.

I had a piece of cornbake (Thanks, Kath!) and some green beans for lunch, then set about a few afternoon chores. I pressed off the new pillowcases from the Hancher family – can’t wait to put the sheets on the bed on Saturday! I also took a picture of my ‘charm’ bracelet (featuring Snoopy) from the Burke family. Perfect Christmas!

I watched an old Hallmark movie (from 2014) called Angels and Ornaments, and I was surprised that I had never seen it. Although it was a little far fetched I really liked it, and the actor who played Harold (perfect angel name, right???) did a wonderful job! It’s thundering outside right now, rather surprising for December. I guess maybe nothing should surprise us these days! Supper is next, then thank you cards.

Tomorrow I hope to get an update on Kelly’s eye. Nate just called with the good news that the closing for their house is to be on Monday! So happy for them. It’s been a long time coming. God bless my wonderful family – all of them!

Memory book – December 27th: Do you remember celebrating any special wedding anniversaries of your parents or grandparents? “We celebrated the 50th anniversary of Grandma & Grandpa Eakman with an open house at their farm. I think it was around 1947. Grandma wore the ‘gold dress’ to your Dad’s & my wedding. We celebrated my mother & dad’s 40th wedding anniversary. We made a money ‘tree’ and had cookies.”

On this day in 1947 the Howdy Doody show debuted, and in 1932 Radio City Music Hall opened, featuring the Rockettes. Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) died in 2016 at age 60.

TOMORROW December 28 is:

I will definitely buy into the Chocolate day! That’s every day for me! Have a great day. God bless…
