The sun was up when I got up this morning. I had oats for breakfast, then buzzed over to Diane’s to drop off the 250 National Park stamp for Shannon’s collection. Also Kathy got a few of those souvenir pennies that you press in a machine. Shannon collects them.

This is a stock photo – I game Shannon hers already.
I grabbed a few items, mostly so I could make stuffed pepper soup. It’s simmering now.

I had a salad for lunch, then did a load of laundry. Also went out and rescued another rose bush from the neighbor’s National Forest. I had asked permission. This one was scraggly so it might not survive. My mum was done blooming so I planted it, as well.

It may not thrive…

The mum may not survive either!
I got ambitious and cut the trunks of the lilac bushes by the shed. I wasn’t sure I could manage the saw but I did.

You can see the two white-topped stumps in the right center.
Then I raked the rough dirt behind the shed – I put the stones on the piece of plastic and will get rid of those this spring when I decide what I’m doing with that space — planting grass or spreading mulch. I did the side as well and filled in the little ditch from the water running off the roof for 34 years! I straightened the stones that line it, too.

Behind the shed – stones all lined up.

On the side.
That’s when I stopped and made the soup. So now I’m posting this and listening to JD on the History Traveler. Of Course…
