Since I didn’t work today, I didn’t even think about the fact that it was a holiday until I went to Giant Eagle to pick up prescriptions. It was CRAZY crowded there. I think there were 7 people in line ahead of me. Typically if there are 2 I think it’s busy! But they called out more people and the wait went quickly. I grabbed a container of my favorite ice cream and headed home.
I did stop at Big Lots. I cleaned out my linen closet today and found that two bath towels where almost in shreds. Big Lots had really nice towels on sale so I replaced one. When I came back out, the truck next to me had two dogs panting out the windows. They were beautiful dogs! And well behaved. They just sat there and watched me – no fuss and no barking!
For some reason I spur of the moment decided to make cookies! I made Russian Tea Cakes. The recipe doesn’t make too many – so if I save them (MOST of them!) to snack on when we go to Gettysburg that will be fun!
When I pulled the car in the garage, there was a tiny ladybug on the hood. It just sat there and looked at me.
I also scrubbed the oven, then updated the pictures of the grandsons that were downstairs on the book shelf. I changed the frame for Peyton’s picture, and put Logan and Clairese in one side of the double frame, and Chase and Rory on the other side. Kelly sent me a better picture of Chase and Rory that fit better in the frame. The picture of Logan and Clairese is an engagement photo.
I did turn the heater on for a little while. It was really cold downstairs. But the pink sky gives us a promise of warmer temps tomorrow.
