I was sad to have missed posting yesterday but it was a late night and I just didn’t have time! I was very tired when I got home – but it was a great 2 days. Kelly’s appointment went well, and everything is progressing as it should! I was able to keep up with household chores and food prep. It was amazing to me – I had 3 pans of burgers going, where at home I would be cooking two burgers! Feeding a family is a much bigger deal than feeding me! But the trip down on Tuesday night sported a BEAUTIFUL sky, the whole way!

In the afternoon Peyton and I went to the creek, and I climbed down in and walked around. The water wasn’t even that cold – just cool enough to feel good on my feet. I chose 4 stones to bring home for my flower beds, and Peyton gave me a ride back up to the house. He loves his side-by-side and he’s a great driver. Later on, Kelly felt like a walk, which was a very good thing. She got out for some fresh air and a little exercise for her leg. I took a picture of the creek bank from the hill, and of the house from the creek bank.

I did listen to Bram at First Baptist. Their services will be in their outside pavilion for the month of August, and you could tell it was windy. His sermon notes almost blew away! He chose Psalm 104 for the theme for all of August, and today was God’s Wonderful World. God created everything perfect for every purpose, and we can witness all of God’s handiwork. He filled the world with sights, and sounds, and colors and everything is under his command. He also lights our way. He created the foundations of the earth so they would not be moved for ever. And even after creating the universe – God chooses to love us! On purpose!

On this day in 1774 Mother Ann Lee, founder of the Shaker Movement, arrived in New York. The Atomic Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945; Chubby Checker performed the TWIST on the Dick Clark Show in 1960, starting a worldwide dance craze. In 1973 Roberto Clemente was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Lots of birthdays today: Alfred Tennyson in 1809, Edith Roosevelt (Teddy’s wife) was born in 1861 and Lucille Ball in 1911 – Andy Warhol in 1928.
