Sunny day quickly turned cloudy – never got warm so I pretty much stayed inside. Did some writing, emails, laundry, and ironing. Chrissy came over for a few hours and did her online classes. I mixed up cinnamon roll dough as it’s a request for the boys on Wednesday. Also made potato soup.

Ran over to the store to get supplies to make small curtains for the basement window. The sun shines in and reflects off the TV and it’s hard to see. That will probably be a Sunday project after I listen to a few of my ‘guys’.

I will share Greg’s message from Vanderbilt today. BELLOWS – we need to fan our faith into flames; take what we have and feed it. Run your race – we all run, but run to win. Make the effort. Don’t run aimlessly; seek the crown that doesn’t fade. Churches are full of unbelieving people – we need to be a strong witness and a good servant. 1) Be discriminating; we have endless options so choose carefully a) meditate day and night b) pray c) give d) fast e) fellowship – encourage, and be fed. Love one another. 2) Be deliberate – calculate what’s good and bad 3) Be determined in what you do. a) transformation; build Christlike character/honesty b) in your relationship with Jesus. Keep moving, keep praying (especially for your kids) , keep looking for the lost, keep growing, keep running the race. Fan your faith!

On this day in 1773 Westmoreland County was formed from Bedford County; Hanna’s Town was named as the first county seat. In 1929 President Calvin Coolidge established the Grand Teton National Park, and in 1933 Golden Gate Bridge groundbreaking ceremony took place. In 1935 the Yankees released Babe Ruth and he signs with the Boston Braves. Michael Jackson’s THRILLER album became #1 and stayed there for 37 weeks. Levi Strauss (first company to manufacture blue jeans) was born in 1829, and Herbert Henry Dow (Dow Chemical) in 1866. Fats Domino was born in 1928 and Johnny Cash in 1932. And two of my friends are having birthdays today: Sue Nease (a long time friend from Hempfield Church who is living in Florida) and Eric Yowonske – my cousin Deb’s son-in-law. Happy birthday Sue and Eric – have a great day and a wonderful year!
