BUSY all day. It was a really beautiful day to be outside all day. Right after a quick breakfast I went out and started trimming the little lilac sprouts that pop up – ones that a chain saw wouldn’t handle. Nate got here about 11am and we got started. I cut the smaller shoots and he cut the thicker ones. We both lugged (and lugged) all the branches up to my cousin’s dump truck (parked in my front yard!) and got everything cleaned up by about 3:30pm. I finally remembered to have my homepressed Apple Cider with breakfast!

We took a quick break – Nate had pretzels and a brownie, and I had a flax ball and some Cheetos. We sort of just skipped lunch! Nate power washed the driveway (which was quite the chore) and I cleaned up the spriggly branches and raked them into a trash bags. I think he finished and left about 5pm. We worked hard, but he worked harder.

After Nate left, I put on warm pajamas and am settled in to post this. I got a txt message from Beth with some pictures. They are in Vermont – Sugarbush. It does look enchanting there – the leaves are changing and the cows are grazing!

My neighbors trees are changing too – these 2 are usually the first to turn.
There were 2 butterflies on my butterfly bush. First I’ve noticed this year!

I had planned on putting the Fall light projector out today but never managed. I realized that it wasn’t a good idea until the truck was out of the yard.
