It was nice to not have an alarm this morning but I still had to get up and moving to get things done. I got the house cleaned and the laundry done in time to go to my meeting at 2pm for the Hanna’s Town Tea prep. We set the menu, then went over Priscilla’s amazing new Procedure Manual – she thought of everything! We should have no trouble moving forward no matter who is doing the planning.

I was in the kitchen getting a drink after lunch and I heard this loud crash. In fact, I missed my mouth and spilled water all down my shirt! It seems that the hook that held up my vintage plate (belonged to Mom) let lose and the plate crashed to the floor and split in half. Not an exact crack, so it would be very difficult to repair. I know Kathy had hers repaired when it broke and it was very costly. I just recently invested quite a bit of money to have Grandma and Grandad Crooks’ mantle clock fixed, so I think I’ll hold off on the plate. I tucked it away in a safe place and will revisit that decision in the future.

Boohoo – so sad…

After I finished cleaning, and got back from the meeting, I took a few more fall photos. Just for fun.

I got a call from Gen, who was stuck on Interstate 80 with a dead battery. Although she did get it replaced it was fairly late, so she is staying at her sister’s in State College and will finish the trip in the morning. I will miss her and Rainy being here tonight as planned, but it’s better to be fresh and alert to make the last three hours of her trip.

So now it’s time for supper. We’ll see what tomorrow brings!

TOMORROW September 21st is:

National Pawpaw Day; National New York Day; National Chai Day; National Pecan Cookie Day.

In my opinion, not much excitement to choose from! Since Gen lives in New York, I’ll pick that! Have a great Thursday! God bless…
