I woke up to rain, then a bit of sun, but the rest of the day has been cool and overcast. I’m glad we picked Friday for Fort Ligonier Days!
We are still in Judges in Sunday School – and today’s lesson had some practical applications. It was about false gods and how they become important to us. When things go wrong, we tend to blame the idol, ourselves (we’re not good enough), the world around us, or that we were placed in the wrong universe. I tend to blame myself. But we need to be shaped by God’s Word and not the culture around us. We are NOT saved by what we DO (good deeds, what we give to others, etc) but we are saved by what has been DONE for us (Jesus). We are influenced by our culture more than we think. We have trouble accepting that the answer is, simply, God’s Grace. We don’t learn lessons well and stray from God’s word.

Todd’s message was about praying Boldly – we seldom do, and we don’t expect a big answer. We should pray BIG, pray TOGETHER, pray BOLD, and pray for MIRACLES! Then watch what God can do! God brings down walls we could never bring down on our own. So pray BOLDLY!

I popped into the Mall after church but they did NOT have what I was looking for. Saved money, anyway! After lunch I went outside and carted all the deck furniture to the shed. It’s heavy and awkward but I’ve been doing it for years and have a system. All tucked away. Then I hosed off the cleared deck and we’re ready for winter (Well, not QUITE ready!). I was just about to come inside when Trent came to mow. He also said he’d keep an eye on my front yard and later on he’d rake leaves for me. Yea! I don’t even mind helping! Yard looks lovely.

Deck cleared and scrubbed.
My list for the afternoon was short – I had to send a note to Mary with a check as I owed her for some Mary Kay. Then I looked over next week’s Wee Worship lesson. Got the ironing done, then started the Stuffed Pepper Soup. It’s now simmering upstairs on the stove. I have Christmas CD’s on in the background. And no, it’s not too early!

Found a purple bloom on the butterfly bush – first purple one in a few weeks. Also found a violet blooming down by the shed! They usually bloom in May and June!!! Crazy planet!

Autmn sent me a few pictures of Cameron – Noah’s mom and step-father took them to Hallowboo! Looks like Cameron is having a great time. He has the most delightful smile! She’ll probably send more pictures once they get home, maybe even tomorrow. I like seeing him have fun!

Trick or Treat!

Here I am!

SCRIPTURE of the DAY:

From today’s Sunday School lesson.
PEANUTS?

TOMORROW October 13th is:
National Transfer Money to your Son Day; National Online Bank Day; National Kick Butt Day; Native American Day; Columbus Day; Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day; National No Bra Day; National Yorkshire Pudding Day; National Train your Brain Day; Navy Birthday; Disaster Day; English Language Day; National M&M Day.
The day I’ve been waiting for! Let’s hear it for M&M’s – right now I have 6 bowls of M&M’s set out for fall! Plus two in the fridge and one in the pantry! That is cause for celebration. Not sure if I will transfer money to my son, but since Friday is his birthday it’s not altogether unlikely! God bless…
