Took a nice, early walk, had oatmeal for breakfast, then actually went to church. It was so comforting to be there, regardless of the distancing. I totally understand the lower attendance; so many people I talk to mention outbreaks of the virus in their congregations. It’s hard to know what to do. But I loved being there!

After lunch I changed the clothes on the Holiday doll. She needed to be ready for the harvest! I wish she had a name. I probably named her when I got her back in the day, but have no clue what it was! Nothing sounds fitting. I decided to start on my secret project. I’m posting a picture (half done) and will post a picture when it’s finished. See if you can guess what it will be!

Again, I raked leaves; both in the back and out front. Only two bags, which was great, but I still had to rake the whole yard and sweep the driveway. I discovered the ‘last rose of summer’ blooming by the front walk. There was also a dandelion in the back yard. I think fall is confusing itself with summer!

Mike’s message was again from Acts, about Paul and Barnabas’ missionary journey. They went about speaking effectively – and what would that mean? That they taught the TRUTH, which they had by studying the Word (written or witnessing). They taught that Jesus is the Christ, and salvation comes through Jesus Only. Many believed but some didn’t, and they were antagonistic and stirred up trouble. Does that sound familiar in today’s culture? We are entreated to speak boldly! WE are reluctant to do that; we need to be eager to speak out, and share that Jesus is the only hope, and everyone needs Jesus. We must spread the Word; THAT is the mission of God’s Church. And the Word IS being spread!

TOMORROW November 9 is:

Have a beautiful week, and if you can’t get to Louisiana, at least sing OH SUSANNAH! instead!

I came from Alabama,
Wid my banjo on my knee,
I’m gwyne to Louisiana,
My true love for to see;
It rain’d all night the day I left,
The weather it was dry,
The sun so hot I froze to death,
Susanna, don’t you cry.

CHORUS
Oh! Susanna, Oh don’t you cry for me,
I’ve come from Alabama
Wid my banjo on my knee.

God bless

    Hey Marge, Neil Young covered this song a couple of years ago. See if you can find it on YouTube. It’s worth a listen.
