Again a cold day. A little sunny, but the wind cut right through you! Mary and I did a review of creation with Max, and he worked the ‘Let there be Light’ flashlight and helped put the flannelgraph pieces on the boards.
We had a guest speaker representing IDES – International Disaster Emergency Services – who talked about their work all over the world. They step in with food, water, housing, evacuation and transportation when disaster strikes. What an amazing organization.
Little changes are taking place all the time – there are new lights on the stage, which against the black curtains make the stage extra bright.
After lunch and some emails, I worked a bit on editing my story, then went over to the funeral home for Barb’s visitation. I didn’t know her family too well but I always find it interesting to watch the slideshow of photos. You can learn so much about a person’s life in just 5 or 10 minutes! She was so full of life and adventure! She sang several times with the Tabernacle choirs!
I called to have two of my prescriptions refilled at CVS on Friday. The pharmacist told me they would be ready after lunch. I didn’t get back out until today after church. The drive-thru was closed, and when I went inside there were no cashiers – all self-service. The line in the back was about a dozen people deep. When I finally got to the front of the line I was told that the pharmacists were five days behind and my prescriptions weren’t ready. Before I have another prescription filled there, I am choosing another pharmacy. These people have been nothing but problems for 2 1/2 months. I’m done with them.
I was determined to avoid stores until after Thanksgiving – but I discovered that I was missing two key items for the boys – bacon and Goldfish. So after the funeral home I handled that, and now am basking in the hope that I don’t need anything else!
