Since I didn’t have to work today, I decided to make a list and get some things done today. After breakfast I went outside and cut the grass. Although I did see Fred and Ed when I got up, as soon as I walked out the door they disappeared. And I did NOT leave my garage door open, as I usually do when I work outside. That was too risky. But the day was sunny and warm and the grass looks really nice.

After mowing, I took an iced-tea break. My neighbor Al walked over and showed me pictures of the milk can he painted a few years ago. It’s beautiful! He painted scenes on it like Aunt Dolly used to do. I was glad he shared the pictures with me. I just spray painted mine purple and put a stickie decal on the front!

Once I cooled down and put the mower away, I got my trimmers out, my kneeling pad, and a huge trash bag. I spent about an hour trimming back the lilacs along the fence. They always grow through the fence to the other side, and make it hard to mow. In addition, it doesn’t look very neat. So that’s another job finished. While I was at it I cleaned up a few dead branches on the rose bushes on the hill. So that side looks pretty nice. I also cleaned up the little steps under the top deck.

Since there were no eggs or birds in the nest, I knocked it down from the light and threw it away. Then I hosed the light off.

By then it was time for lunch, so I made a salad and a piece of garlic toast and read a chapter in my book.

My next chore was to scrub the back decks, patio and front porch, as well as the furniture. I was surprised the difference it made. I also turned the a/c on inside. It was time to put the furnace to ‘nap’ position for the summer. But now I’m chilly!

Autmn sent me a few pictures of Cameron playing at their neighborhood splash pad. He was having a great time! Look at that smile!
