Treadmill this morning, then a few errands. Nothing specific, just wandering around Greensburg aimlessly looking for things that don’t exist! But it was a fun way to spend the morning – and a few gallons of gas!

I smacked into my closet door (Which I had accidently left open) with the door to the garage and scraped paint off of it. Ugh. So after my rambling this morning – and a quick lunch – I got the paint out and touched it up. (It was dented already – for a few decades!) Then Deb came over to borrow a few more books from the Wren Drive lending library. In exchange she brought me homemade heart-shaped iced sugar cookies. I can’t wait to have them with a cup of hot tea!

Homemade by Deb!! Yum!!

I will share Paul’s message today, continuing in the A LITTLE CHILD SHALL LEAD THEM series. Josiah – wisdom. Are you smarter than a third grader? He became king at age 8, and was a very good and wise king. Josiah knew to seek the God of his ancestor David. He tore down the idols and chose to be devoted to God. Lived his life to please God in everything. We can choose to do that too. He also restored the temple of God and walked in the ways of the Lord. He found the book of Law (God’s word); humbled himself and turned the nation back to worshiping God according to His word. He kept the Passover according to God’s word, and brought God’s people back to a right relationship with God. We can follow Josiah’s example and seek God’s leadership and wisdom every day, day to day.

On this day in 1554 the Queen of England – Lady Jane Grey – is executed (beheaded, actually!) for treason. They didn’t waste any time, did they?? In 1999 President Bill Clinton is acquitted by the senate in his impeachment trial. (Lady Jane wasn’t that lucky…) Abraham Lincoln (16th President) was born in 1809, as was Charles Darwin. Arsenio Hall in 1956. Ethan Allen (revolutionary war patriot who led the Green Mountain Boys) died in 1789 at age 51 (He made neat furniture, too – right???), and James Cash Penney died at age 95 in 1971 – founder of J C Penney’s. Tom Landry (Dallas Cowboy’s football coach) died in 2000, and our beloved and very much missed Charles M Schulz – creator of PEANUTS/SNOOPY – died at age 77 in 2000. We miss him every day! He was so clever and creative! What an amazingly talented man.
