Short but sweet tonight. I worked this morning, had a doctor’s appointment (something was irritating my foot and it hurt to walk), some yard work in the afternoon, and then Autmn and I went out for dinner and then to the Beach Boys concert. It was great and we had a wonderful evening – but I’m saving that for tomorrow. Stay tuned.
On this day in 1682 Duke James of York gave Delaware to William Penn; in 1814 the British attacked Washington, D.C. during the War of 1812. In 1847 Charlotte Bronte finished ‘Jane Eyre’, and in 1853 Chef George Crum prepared the first potato chip. The first waffle iron was patented in 1869, and 1932 was the first transcontinental non-stop flight by a woman (Amelia Earhart). A friend that I met a Smail’s right before I left – Robin Poole – had a birthday today. Sending her happy wishes for another wonderful year. Happy birthday, Robin!
