Today would have been my Dad’s birthday. I still miss him, even though it’s been so long – 40 years. I think about how he would have loved the kids, and grandkids, and being in our lives. Love you, Dad!

Dad and me – he did love a good adventure!
Normal Saturday – sheets, organize pills, a few morning chores. I skipped breakfast and went straight into making cream of potato soup. I got an email from Kath, and Paul hopes to get home today. The doctor said these incidents cannot be predicted and the best plan is to just go about the business of living!

I popped over to grab the food I need for tomorrow. HAHS Class of 1968 is having an informal ‘reunion’ and we are all invited to bring snacks. I wanted to make pepperoni balls. I had everything sitting out on the counter when I got home and heard a loud pop. The roll of poppin’ fresh biscuits blew up!

A little blow-out.
Kelly had given me an apron for someone at Kathy’s church so I dropped that off and we chatted for a while. Paul called while I was there and said the doctor discharged him. So I left, and she left. So that is good news.

Anyway, I got the pepperoni balls put together and baked, did all the dishes, and got everything ready for tomorrow afternoon. I still have ironing to do once I finish this.

Ready to bake…

One tray baked.
I was listening to Christmas CD’s. Each of those CD’s are friends to me – and I love listening to each song. I feel like I know the singer and they have something to say just special to me. And I have been enjoying my Dolly Parton CD – She has been in the media a lot lately, what with her new connection to the pop world, her connection to Christian songs and artists, sharing her faith so easily, Dollywood’s anniversary and the new Coke soft drink in her honor, and her husband’s death. So her songs seem more meaningful to me in light of all that. And Toby Keith’s CD – I hadn’t listened to it in a while, and there are some great songs on that too.

Right now I’m listening to the Hallmark movie THE REAL WEST. There are some pretty cool scenes in that movie, too.

SCRIPTURE of the DAY:

PEANUTS?

TOMORROW August 24th is:
National Waffle Day; National Peach Pie Day; International Strange Music Day; National Knife Day.
I could eat a waffle. Not interested in Strange Music – because it would be strange. God bless…
